Plum exports from Moldova have doubled

The season of the most active sales of plums in Moldova is already ending, and according to organizations of local fruit growers, it will hardly exceed 10,000 tons in November, the electronic publication EastFruit reported. Data from the Moldovan Customs Service indicate that in October the deliveries of plums abroad reached almost 23 thousand tons, and between July and October - almost 74 thousand tons, with a total value of 38 million dollars at an average price of 52 cents per kilogram. For comparison, during the 2022-2023 agricultural season, which ended on June 30, the export of plums from Moldova was only 37 thousand tons with revenues of 19 thousand tons (an average of 51 cents per kilogram), and in the 2021-2022 season year – 52 thousand tons with revenues of about 25 million dollars (an average of 48 cents per kilogram).
