Poland's dairy product exports experienced a 3.4% decline in value from January-April 2023, reaching EUR 1.15 billion, as reported by the Ministry of Finance. Despite this decrease, the country's dairy import costs rose by 1.1% to EUR 567 million during the same period. The positive trade balance for dairy products was EUR 586 million, marking an 8% decrease from the previous year. The majority of these exports, accounting for 68% of total revenues, were sold to EU countries, with Germany, the Czech Republic, Romania, and the Netherlands being the main recipients. Non-EU countries contributed 32% to the total export value, led by Algeria, Great Britain, Ukraine, and Saudi Arabia. The exports consisted of a variety of dairy products, with cheese and cottage cheese, liquid milk and cream, SMP and condensed milk, ice cream, butter, and milk fats generating the highest revenues.
