Hennig-Kloska emphasized the importance of climate change adaptation measures, combating climate disinformation, and progressing key legislative measures such as the Framework Directive on Textile and Food Waste, the European Soil Monitoring Act, and the 'One Substance, One Assessment' package. The Presidency also aims to reach an agreement with Parliament on rules regarding losses of plastic pellets, water pollutants, and detergents.
Siekierski announced that the Council will discuss the future of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) beyond 2027, with a focus on simplifying its green architecture and assessing the impact of current EU trade agreements on agriculture.
