Ukraine will impose an embargo on onions, tomatoes, cabbage, and apples due to an unresolved dispute with Poland, according to Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Taras Kachka. The Ukrainian government filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization after 5 months of unsuccessful negotiations and has yet to receive a response from Poland. In addition to extending the ban, Ukraine also hoped for Poland to include flour and cereals in the embargo, and the European Commission had previously urged Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia to lift their bans on Ukrainian grain imports.
