Russian fishermen are projected to catch around 2 million tons of pollock by the end of 2024, accounting for about 40% of Russia's total catch. Pollock is one of the most affordable types of fish in Russia, with prices remaining stable while other food products increase. The Pollock Catchers Association, which includes 35 of the largest enterprises in the Far East, catches about 80% of all Russian pollock. In 2023, the association launched a program to promote the consumption of Far Eastern Pollock and also highlights its benefits for people with heart disease, diabetes, and metabolic disorders.
