In 2024, Turkey's pomegranate exports have surged by 32% from $75 million to $100 million between January and October, with projections to reach $150 million by year-end. As one of the top five global producers, Turkey annually produces 700,000 tons and ranks in the top 10 for exports. Efforts by the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters' Association to enhance quality and minimize pesticide residues have fueled this growth. Pomegranates are exported to 61 countries, with the Russian Federation, Iraq, and Germany as leading importers. The fruit is prized for its economic value and health benefits, being rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, and is utilized in various forms such as fresh fruit, juice, and medicinal products.
