In the context of Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation reported that, by the end of 2025, the annual consumption of pork nationwide would reach 220,000 tons. This figure would represent a 5% increase in sales of this meat compared to 2024. Pork meat, currently the second most consumed in Peru, continues to gain presence in these celebrations; due to its versatility, quality, and growing gastronomic appreciation. According to Midagri's estimates for this year, per capita consumption would reach 11 kilos, and the pork sector has set a goal to double that figure by 2030, supported by an increasingly dynamic and diverse market. “The Peruvian consumer seeks quality, innovation, and new alternatives for their celebrations.
