October exports of both beef and pork saw positive growth compared to the previous year, with beef exports increasing by 1% to 105,269 tonnes and valued at $860.4 million, a 3% increase. Pork exports also rose by 3% to 252,411 tonnes, with a value of $710.4 million. Mexico continued to be a significant market for both meats, but there was also growth in exports to South Korea, China/Hong Kong, Central America, the Caribbean, and the ASEAN region. US pork exports are projected to surpass 3 million tonnes for the first time, surpassing the 2020 volume record. However, US lamb exports experienced a 2% increase in volume but an 8% decrease in value.
