Brazil: Pork from Paraná reaches 70 countries; exports have second-best first semester in history

Paraná had the second best first half of the historical series in pork exports in 2024. From January to June, 79 thousand tons were exported, just below the record of 81 thousand tons achieved in the first half of 2023. The data appears in the latest Bulletin of the Agricultural Situation, the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), the State Secretariat for Agriculture and Supply (Seab). The document points out that the difference compared to 2023 was influenced by the decrease in pork exports to Paraná's important trading partners, such as Hong Kong, the main buyer; Argentina, Uruguay and Albania. According to the Paraná Institute for Economic and Social Development (Ipardes), Paraná exported pork to 70 countries in the first half of this year.
