In the first half of 2024, Paraná achieved the second highest pork export volume, exporting 79 thousand tons, slightly less than the 81 thousand tons in the same period of 2023. Despite a decrease in exports to traditional partners like Hong Kong and Argentina, significant growth in new markets such as Vietnam and Cuba helped offset the decline. Paraná's rigorous health controls and status as a Foot and Mouth Disease Free Area without Vaccination have facilitated this expansion. Additionally, Paraná remains the largest supplier of pork for domestic consumption in Brazil.
