The Pacific South Terminal of Valparaíso recently welcomed Minister of Agriculture, Esteban Valenzuela, and other key figures in the Chilean agricultural and port community, including Iván Marambio, president of Frutas de Chile, and Javiera Perales, manager of Concessions of the Port Company of Valparaíso. The meeting took place during the peak season for exporting cherries, with over 7,000 containers handled across three ships, including the Cherry Express from Hapag-Lloyd, a Maersk container ship, and the Cool Carriers camera ship. The port of Valparaíso is crucial for exporting fresh Chilean fruit to various destinations, with Valparaíso's Terminal 1 projecting high volumes for the current cherry and fruit season, aiming to improve from 213,000 tons to 230,000 tons. This collaboration between stakeholders aims to ensure efficient logistics, timely exports, and the necessary infrastructure to support the growing demand for Chilean fruit.
