The National Office Fisheries (ONP) reports a 13% increase in coastal and artisanal fishing landings at Mediterranean ports, reaching 3,216 tonnes by the end of February 2024. The value of these landings rose by 37% to around 158.79 million dirhams. However, there was a decrease in the quantities of pelagic fish and white fish landed by 24% and 11% respectively. Cephalopod landings saw a significant increase of 48%, while crustacean landings slightly decreased by 2%. Shellfish landings dropped to zero, but seaweed landings saw a massive increase of 8691%.
