Portugal: Philippine market opening published in Philippine official newspaper

The opening of the Philippine market to Portuguese pork was reported in The Manila Times. In an official communication from the Philippine government, it is stated that six Portuguese pork establishments were authorized to export pork to the Philippines. These establishments are the Central Slaughterhouse of Entre Douro e Minho, CASO, Sicasal, Carmonti, Valsabor and Maporal. This statement also refers to the criteria that led to the approval of the country and of these establishments in particular, namely, the guarantee of food safety through biological risk control programs, animal welfare through FILPORC animal welfare certification, which the Philippine authorities became aware of during the technical visit to Portugal, and the suitability of the national health authority.
