Potato prices in Brazil have experienced a continuous decline for the third week in a row, according to a survey by Hortifruti at Cepea. The average price of special agate potatoes in São Paulo wholesalers fell by 7.79% to R$89.87 per 25 kg bag. In Belo Horizonte, the price dropped by 2.29% to R$76.86 per bag, and in Rio de Janeiro, it decreased by 11.23% to R$81.00 per bag. This price drop is attributed to an increased supply from the South of Minas Gerais, particularly due to the quick harvest phase and the approaching soybean and corn planting season. Despite rainy weather reducing the entry of potatoes from the Triângulo Mineiro, the supply has increased from South Minas Gerais and Cerrado Mineiro.
