In 2020, farmers in the Devashtich district of Tajikistan achieved a record potato harvest, producing 126 thousand tons, an increase of 6 thousand tons from the previous year. This was grown across 5,400 hectares, with plans to expand by an additional thousand hectares next year. The district is considering forming an association of dekhkan farms to enhance efficiency and production, particularly in potato cultivation. The region relies heavily on potato farming, especially in the foothills, and has seen significant land development through the drilling of 17 wells in the past two years.
