Nearly 29 metric tons of potatoes from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India were exported to Guyana in South America through Farmers Producers Organization (FPO), marking the first time potatoes were exported from Aligarh to Guyana via sea route. The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is helping set up an agricultural export center for potatoes in the region, which will provide employment opportunities for farmers. The state government is also providing financial assistance to FPOs to enhance their infrastructure capacity and is actively promoting FPOs and farmer groups in international trade.
