Egypt's poultry sector is booming, with the government planning to expand exports to Saudi and Kuwaiti markets following success in the UAE and Oman. The sector, which has investments of nearly 90 billion pounds and employs over 2.5 million people, produces about 1.4 billion chickens annually. Consumer prices for white poultry range from 76 to 78 pounds per kilo, while turkey prices vary from 120 to 135 pounds per kilo due to importation. Duck prices are stabilized at 100 and 130 pounds per kilo, and Egypt produces 13 billion eggs annually.
