Egypt has seen a decrease in the price of white poultry meat, with consumer prices dropping to 95 and 98 pounds per kilo, and farm prices decreasing to 83 to 84 pounds per kilo. The government is planning to increase poultry exports to Saudi and Kuwaiti markets, following success in the UAE and Oman. A strategy to boost the poultry sector includes encouraging integrated projects in desert areas, covering all stages from hatching to waste recycling. Egypt's poultry production is around 1.4 billion chickens annually, with about 2.5 million workers in the sector. The country relies heavily on imported turkeys due to limited local production.
