Egypt has seen a significant increase in poultry prices, with the cost per kilo rising by around 4 pounds to range between 69 and 70 pounds for farm produce, and 83 to 85 pounds for consumers. In response, the Ministry of Agriculture is planning to expand poultry exports to Saudi and Kuwait, following successful entries into the UAE and Oman markets. The country's annual local poultry production is approximately 1.4 billion chickens, and the sector employs over 2.5 million workers with an investment of about 90 billion pounds. The government is also promoting the creation of integrated poultry projects in desert areas. Meanwhile, duck prices have remained stable, and Egypt continues to import turkeys due to insufficient local production.
