Costa Rica has approved eleven Argentine fishing companies to export their seafood products, including wild shrimp, squid, and sole, to the country. This decision comes as Costa Rica currently exports its seafood to the United States and China, with Europe, China, and the United States being the main buyers of wild shrimp. The decision is a result of efforts by the health authorities of both countries and the Argentine Foreign Ministry. In the first half of 2021, Argentine exports to Costa Rica reached USD 37.3 million and imports reached USD 6.3 million, resulting in a positive trade balance of USD 30.9 million.
