The Inspection of the Quality of Trade in Agricultural and Food Products (IJHARS) reported on the results of the pre-holiday inspection of carp available in retail sales. The main objectives of these activities are to verify the reliability of information for consumers and the identifiability of products. They were carried out by IJHARS inspectors in Warsaw, Bydgoszcz, Olsztyn, Szczecin, and Opole. The inspection covered 8 points of sale, where a total of 15 batches of carp were checked, both whole fish and its parts (fillet, flank, roe) - with a total weight of over 121 kg. "The inspectors questioned the labeling of every third batch. The irregularities involved the lack of information directly accessible to the consumer about the production method, the area where the fish was raised, the scientific name of the fish, or a reliable indication of the producer.
