Preliminary results of fishing in Russia: catch is gaining momentum

The main achievements in the fishing industry include stable pollock production, which amounted to more than 1.9 million tons - slightly higher than the same figures last year. There is also an increase in the catch of ivasi, which exceeded 570 thousand tons, and, according to forecasts, the final result may exceed 600 thousand tons, which will allow it to take second place in production volumes after pollock. Conditions for the Far Eastern squid fishery are also developing successfully, with a catch of about 110 thousand tons - this is 22% more than in 2023. Fishermen have already caught 422 thousand tons of Pacific herring, which is 12% higher than last year's results. In the Northern Basin, the catch of flounder has increased, which increased by 46%, amounting to 23 thousand tons. However, there are also negative trends.
