In 2024, Ukraine's blueberry season was affected by early flowering and frost, resulting in lower quality and yield in some areas, but a larger harvest than the previous year. However, the supply of blueberries on the market increased, leading to a drop in prices to record lows due to marketing challenges and low domestic demand. The average price for premium blueberries was 39% lower than the average of the previous six seasons, and the early end of the harvest season allowed prices to recover slightly. Despite these challenges, the number of small farms finding it less profitable to grow blueberries due to low prices, and the season's interim results are expected to be similar to the final results, with high prices in September and October due to delays in blueberry production in Peru and increased competition in the European market.
