A meeting was held on September 11, 2024, in Phayao Province to discuss the implementation of a project to allow Thai farmers to export cows, buffaloes, and agricultural products to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) via the Ban Hok Permanent Border Checkpoint. The meeting was attended by representatives from both countries and the Khampaichana Group Co., Ltd., with the objective of establishing regulations and procedures for the export of livestock and agricultural products. The first shipment of 6,000 heads of cattle and buffalo is expected to be imported by the Khampaichana Group Company Limited in late October 2024, with an aim to improve beef prices and support local farmers by importing parent stock from Thailand.
