Prices for early peach in Moldova are still at a high level due to a small supply

Locally produced peach arrives at the Moldovan fruit market for the second week. But the quantity and volume of supply of this fruit is still small, and its quality still leaves much to be desired. Market operators believe that a relatively low forecasted harvest (12-15 thousand tons) and low quality products will affect the trade in this fruit throughout the season. Farmers regret to admit that this year, due to a cool and relatively rainy spring, they missed the optimal period for sanitation of peach orchards. EastFruit analysts also note that, given its relatively low export potential, Moldovan gardeners usually use not the most expensive and effective pesticides on this crop.
