Dairy product prices, especially cheeses, are experiencing a significant increase of at least 8% due to a rise in the cost of raw materials, with further increases expected in November and December. This is largely due to a milk shortage and the high cost of milk in Ukraine, compared to neighboring countries. The price of cheese is also influenced by production costs, the number of people involved in production, and the amount produced. The demand for imports is higher due to their lower cost, leading to a 15% increase in imports this year. This surge in prices and the competition from imports may result in a decrease in the consumption of Ukrainian cheeses and potential reductions in production by small and medium-sized producers.
