Farmers in Duy Phuoc commune, Quang Nam province, are experiencing severe financial strain as green squash prices plummet from 10,000 VND/kg to 1,500 VND/kg amid a surplus harvest, attributed to increased planting areas due to favorable weather and minimal pest issues. This oversupply, coupled with rising costs for fertilizers, pesticides, and gasoline, exacerbates the financial burden on farmers. Local authorities and the People's Committee are actively seeking solutions, including establishing market connections to help alleviate the situation. Efforts are also being made to encourage crop diversification and the adoption of technology to enhance agricultural efficiency and improve farmers' income, with over 1,900 hectares in the district dedicated to various crops.
