Chilean exports have seen a significant increase in January 2024, with cherry exports reaching a record high of US$1,555 million, a 27.5% increase from the previous year. The majority of these exports, 93%, were destined for the Chinese market. The increase is due to a rise in exported volume and improved international prices. Other products contributing to the export increase include salmon, trout, fresh blueberries, iron, gold articles, iodine, fresh grapes, and fresh peaches and nectarines. Overall, Chile's total exports for the first month of 2024 amounted to US$ 9,896 million, a 9.4% increase from the same period in 2023.
