The industrial fishing fleet in Peru's main ports is playing a crucial role in boosting the economy and adhering to sustainability standards, as highlighted by the Ministry of Production (PRODUCE). From November 1 to December 16, the fleet managed to land 1,645,482 tons of anchovy, which is 65.56% of the quota assigned for the second fishing season of 2024. This not only demonstrates the sector's significance in driving economic growth but also ensures the supply for the fishmeal and fish oil industry. The Ministry's focus on balance between productivity and sustainability underscores its dedication to preserving Peru's hydrobiological resources for future generations, aligning with the fishing sector's goal of sustainable development.
