Last Tuesday (21), a joint operation between the Specialized Delegation for the Repression of Rural Crimes and Cattle Theft (Decrab) of Cruz Alta and the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Sustainable Production and Irrigation (Seapi/RS), resulted in the citation of a rural producer in the municipality of Santa Bárbara do Sul. The action occurred after a report of non-compliance with the soybean sanitary period, a period determined to prevent the survival of the fungus causing Asian rust. During the inspection, the teams found the cultivation of soybeans outside the permitted period in an estimated area of 200 hectares, in addition to the irregular use of agricultural pesticides, including substances prohibited by current legislation.
