The President of the Turkey Union of Chambers of Agriculture (TZOB), Shams Bayraktar, has expressed concern over a significant price gap between manufacturers and the market in Turkey, which has reached up to eight times before Ramadan. He attributes this to speculative activities and calls for responsible behavior to prevent price hikes from affecting consumers. In an 8-day period before Ramadan, prices increased for 25 products, with cauliflower experiencing the highest increase at 25.87%. However, there was a decrease in the prices of 12 products. The highest price difference was in potatoes, selling eight times more in the market. Overall, the price increase in 33 products has been balanced by a decrease in the price of six products, with the highest increase observed in green peppers at 75.18%.
