Producers extend orange harvest until November

The Conjunctural Report from Emater/RS-Ascar, released on Thursday (25), notes that cultural treatments in citrus orchards are ongoing in the administrative region of Caxias do Sul. According to the document, "there is a high quantity of flowers, which indicates an excellent expectation for the fruit harvest." In the restructuring phase, producers have applied routine fungicides to maintain the health of the orchards. More organized citrus growers, who purchase fruits from Cotiporã and Veranópolis for classification and commercialization in the Passo Fundo region, achieve better prices for the Montenegrina, ranging from R$ 40.00 to R$ 45.00 per 22-kilo box. In Caxias do Sul, the harvest of bergamot and orange continues. The high supply limits the rise in prices, although the quality and load of fruits are described as "excellent" by the technicians.
