Brazilian milk producers increased the use of Girolando breed semen by 12% in the first half of 2025, compared to the same period in 2024. This growth surpasses the increase recorded throughout the entire previous year, which closed with a 9% rise, according to a sales survey. The breed's performance will be the topic of the 3rd International Girolando Congress, scheduled for November 12 to 14, at the Center Convention in Uberlândia (MG). The event will bring together participants from various countries. The technical coordinator of the Girolando Genetic Improvement Program (PMGG), Edivaldo Ferreira Júnior, will present the genetic advances of the bulls and the technologies used to identify animals of high genetic value for milk production.
