In April 2024, Chile saw a significant rise in egg production for consumption, with a 10.0% increase compared to the previous year, reaching 350,814,412 units. This growth is primarily due to a 10.2% increase in white egg production and a 9.6% increase in colored eggs. The number of laying hens also rose by 4.0% to a total of 14,581,324. The Metropolitan Region was the largest contributor to this production, accounting for 43.3% of the national total.
