In June 2024, Chile experienced a slight decrease in egg production by 0.3%, totaling 329,551,665 units, with white eggs production rising by 2.1% and colored eggs production falling by 5.8%. Despite this, the number of laying hens increased by 3.6% to 14,789,482. The Metropolitan Region contributed 40.8% of the total egg production, followed by Valparaíso and Ñuble Regions. Distributors were the main sellers of eggs in the first half of 2024, with a 52.0% share, while the traditional channel and supermarkets followed. The production system was predominantly conventional (97.1%), with a small percentage using floor or free-range systems.
