As a consequence of the appearance of African swine fever (ASF) in wild boars in the province of Barcelona on November 28, Spain has lost its status as an ASF-free country with the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), with the consequent repercussions for exports, since the conditions that must be verified in the various export health certificates are now affected. The Spanish Ministry of Agriculture is promptly updating the additional restrictions imposed by third countries as a consequence of this outbreak.
