A delegation from Quanzhou, China has met with the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) to procure palm oil for China's peak food production season in the third quarter of 2023. The meeting aims to strengthen cooperation and encourage supply chain development for the Malaysian oil palm industry and the Fujian food industry. Quanzhou, a major production center for snack food, confectioneries, and bakeries, requires high-quality palm oil due to the growing competitive market. In 2021, Fujian Province imported 530,000 tonnes of palm oil, and the demand is projected to rise in 2023 with the lifting of Covid-19 measures and economic development.
