The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Agency (APHIA) in Taipei will increase quarantine sampling of custard apple exports to China due to recent pest concerns in a shipment. The stricter measures include tripling the rate of quarantine sampling for atemoya exports and intensifying checks on shipment containers. The Taitung Area Farmers' Association will comply with regulations and suspend operations for 10 days after a contaminated batch of custard apples was exported to China.
