In the Ortaca district of Muğla, quarantine checks were carried out on orange and tomato exports to countries including Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and Austria, with samples analyzed for viruses at the Bornova Pest Control Research Institute and Phytosanitary Certificates issued. Concurrently, lemon gardens are under scrutiny for disease and pest control, with an early increase in aphids, red spiders, and thrips pests compared to last year. Experts also detected scab aphids in local lemon varieties, recommending pesticide applications during times when honey bees are inactive to prevent harm to these pollinators.
