The article highlights a significant export achievement by the Cooperativa Agroindustrial Machupicchu in Peru, located in the San Jerónimo district of Apurímac region. The cooperative has secured an order to export 22 tons of certified organic and fair trade quinoa to the Netherlands. The order includes 19 tons of white quinoa, 2 tons of red quinoa, and 1 ton of black quinoa. This successful sale was a result of their participation in the Virtual Business Round of Andean Grains in April, organized by Sierra y Selva Exporter. Peru is a leading producer and exporter of quinoa, a highly demanded Andean grain known for its nutritional value.
