Even with punctual advances in certain regions, the progress of the 2025/26 soybean crop in Mato Grosso has been worrying producers. The state is facing water deficit, above-average temperatures, and poorly distributed rainfall, factors that compromise the germination and initial development of the crops. The scenario also raises concerns for the second corn crop, which may have its planting window shortened if adverse weather conditions persist. The president of Aprosoja MT, Lucas Costa Beber, states that the lack of rainfall regularity has led producers from different regions to interrupt planting. “The precipitations are very irregular and insufficient. In municipalities such as Sorriso, Diamantino, Lucas do Rio Verde, Colíder, and Campo Verde, the crops are stalled and the soil is without moisture. In other years, the rain would delay but then stabilize, but now it comes in isolated bursts and soon stops. Part of the germinated soybean presents uneven stand,” he says. ...
