The Council's initial goals are to educate and inspire US consumers about the health benefits of shrimp and to promote responsibly sourced shrimp products. Key participants in the Global Shrimp Council include representatives from companies in India, Ecuador, Indonesia, Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, and Venezuela.
