Despite a previous state of emergency declared due to bad weather, the Novosibirsk Region in Russia has seen a 12% increase in its rapeseed harvest for export, reaching over 278 thousand tons. This exceeds the planned figures and shows resilience of the region's agricultural sector, which is crucial for its export economy. The harvest includes other oilseeds and grain crops, with China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, and Turkey being the main export destinations. The region also plans to build a rapeseed oil plant with an annual capacity of up to 450 thousand tons. The situation in Novosibirsk reflects broader concerns about the impact of weather conditions on Russia's grain harvest in 2024.
