Winter rapeseed is becoming one of the most important crops in Poland, expected to exceed less than a million hectares in the 2022-2023 season. This places it fourth in crop area after winter wheat, corn, and winter triticale. The increase in rapeseed cultivation is a recent development, with the area being much smaller two decades ago. However, the crop faces challenges such as a decrease in active substances for protection, issues with nitrogen application timing, and lack of profitability, despite some advantages over cereals this year.
