The Brazilian government is set to defend the compatibility of its beef exports to China, aiming to demonstrate they do not undermine China's domestic production. This defense is part of an eight-month investigation into beef imports from all countries, covering 2019 to mid-2024. During this time, China's 12% tariff on beef imports will remain unchanged. Brazil is the largest supplier of beef to China, a relationship that has grown despite Brazil's concerns over cheap exports from China and other Asian countries. To diversify its beef export markets, Brazil is engaging in trade negotiations with Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, and Turkey.
