Since May 2022, new measures have been implemented to prevent the illegal importation of pork products from Africa swine fever-affected areas, particularly during the Mid-Autumn Festival. These measures have led to the interception and investigation of 99 violation cases, with fines ranging from 200,000 to 1 million yuan. However, 90 cases were not punished as the recipients were unaware of the source of the pork products. The majority of the 9 cases under investigation are from China and Hong Kong, with the rest from Thailand and Vietnam. Additionally, the article discusses the decrease in illegal express deliveries and parcels due to relaxed border controls, but an increase in inbound passengers carrying pork products, leading to 63 fines from January to August this year.
