Cocoa producers in Espírito Santo, Brazil, are experiencing significant economic benefits due to record-high cocoa bean prices on the international market, with prices more than doubling from January to June this year. Espírito Santo, the third largest cocoa producer in Brazil, has seen increased production and exports, particularly from Linhares. Cocoa farming, often a supplementary income for family-run farms, is supported by state government and research institutions. The 'Women of Cocoa' project, in collaboration with Incaper, is empowering women in cocoa cultivation, further boosting local economies. Cocoa derivatives from Espírito Santo reached 45 countries last year, with notable exports to Uruguay, Bolivia, and Argentina.
