[Reporter Young-jin Choi, Korea Fisheries Resources Agency Newspaper] The Korea Fisheries Resources Agency, in collaboration with Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, released approximately 20,000 juvenile red mullet into the coastal waters of Hamori (Moseulpo) in Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo City, using underwater drones. The Korea Fisheries Resources Agency announced on the 22nd that they utilized their new technology, the "aquatic biological release device using underwater drones," for this release. This method allows for real-time monitoring of environmental data such as water temperature and seabed topography without the need for divers, enabling the release of seed stock at the desired location, and notably reduces the risk of safety accidents. Earlier last month, a pilot release of rockfish using underwater drones was conducted off the coast of Pohang.
