The head of the Tehran bar vendors' union, Akbar Yavari, announced in an interview with ISNA that the production of the local Nobrane fruit will be scaled up by the end of May, which is expected to reduce fruit prices in Tehran. At the moment, Tehran imports over 400 tons of watermelons daily, with prices ranging from 3 to 14 thousand tomans per kilo. Other fruits such as melons, cantaloupe, and strawberries are also imported and their prices are high due to the large import costs.
