According to experts, bread in Ukraine this year may become 25% more expensive, however, this is not related to the harvest. This is reported by Ukrinform. The main factors are energy, logistics, wages, and inflation. Grain constitutes only 20–25% of the cost structure of bread. The rest are energy costs, logistics, equipment maintenance, as well as inflation in the food group, which this year reached 22%, and the need to increase wages. Bread prices remain under pressure from many economic factors. Today, the cost is most affected by the not rapid, but steady seasonal increase in energy prices. In the 2025–2026 season, agrarians expect a gross harvest of cereals and oilseeds at the level of 73.4 million tons – this is approximately 5% less than in 2024. In particular, grain agrarians may harvest 54.6 million tons. Scientists claim that despite the increase in wheat sowing areas by 2%, this year's yield is lower by 17%, so it is expected that the harvest will reach 21 million tons ...
